TRIPTYKON ‘EPARISTERA DAIMONES’ ALBUM ARTWORK ANNOUNCED

"Eparistera Daimones", the forthcoming debut album by Triptykon, the group founded by former Hellhammer/Celtic Frost singer and guitarist
Tom Gabriel Warrior, is not only musically a leviathan. Remarkably, the album will also feature the epic artwork by renowned Swiss
artist H.R. Giger and New York-based surrealist Vincent Castiglia.

In an exceptionally rare gesture, HR Giger has granted Triptykon the use of his dramatic painting "Vlad Tepes" (work no. 412, 200 x 140 cm, acrylic on paper on wood, 1978). It is the artist's first authorized appearance on an album
cover in 17 years, and the second time he collaborates with Warrior
(following Celtic Frost's "To Mega Therion" album in 1985).

Vincent Castiglia contributes "Triptykon", a specially created portrait of the members of the group, painted in the artist's own blood
(86 x 86 cm, blood/iron oxide on archival paper, 2009).
As Castiglia aptly put it, the amalgamation of works by HR Giger,
Vincent Castiglia, and Triptykon on "Eparistera Daimones" forms a creative triptych in itself.

HR Giger: I am very proud to work with Triptykon. My art hasn't appeared on an album cover for quite some time, and I feel honored to have been approached by Tom about such a collaboration for Triptykon's very first release.

Vincent Castiglia: It's been a tremendous honor to work with both Triptykon and HR Giger on the forthcoming release of, "Eparistera Daimones". It was a project of enormous depth for me, conceptually as well as visually.
I think the resonance between Triptykon's music, Giger's art, and my work is extremely powerful, and it coalesces in quite an amazing, and singular way.

Tom Gabriel Warrior: We feel deeply privileged to be able to adorn our very first album with the work of two artists we respect enormously. To us, their astonishing contributions convey significant symbolism both with respect to our personal frame of mind as well as for this particular album and its history.

It is an immense pleasure to be able to work with HR Giger again.
He was one of our most significant mentors during the days of
Hellhammer and early Celtic Frost, and he is an extraordinary
human being and an artist without equal.

Vincent Castiglia has become a close friend in recent years, and we both sensed that the time had come to create something truly unique
together. I am infinitely grateful that he has lent us his incredible talent, not least because I know he incorporates as much passion,
darkness, and pain into his work as I do, too.

Triptykon "Eparistera Daimones" Double LP Cover

"Eparistera Daimones" will also feature detailed credits, full lyrics and extensive liner notes to all songs and will be released via Century Media Records under exclusive license from Prowling Death Records Ltd. on March 22nd, 2010.

Two songs from "Eparistera Daimones" can already be heard at the band's official MySpace profile: www.myspace.com/triptykonofficial

We all know Jacob Bredahl as the front man with merciless roaring vocals in Hatesphere and Allhelluja. He left those bands because he was too busy with his own studio. The men of The Kandidate – at that time still called The Downward Candidate – were recording instrumental tracks for their debut album at Bredahl’s Smart ‘n Hard studio. They did not have a singer yet, but the songs were so strong that Jacob Bredahl was convinced to join the band, who once toured with Volbeat, as permanent member.

A Danish band with Bredahl as vocalist: we know what we can expect then: firm, solid high energy metal. Hence these ten songs blow your speakers at full tilt, only the instrumental ‘We Conform To The Unrighteous’ has a bit more atmospheric moods (fluttering, distorted guitars). Strangely enough, huge parts of this whole album has been written by guitarist Kim Jarlhelt, but he left the band before the songs were immortalized in the studio. Also drummer Dennis Buhl is no longer in the band, he was busy enough with Hatesphere only. I see on their MySpace they have a drummer called Nik now. They have shot a video for ‘Give Up All Hope’ and this song gives you a good indication of the sound of the band: energetic, angry-young-man crossover between thrash and death with a kind of –core edge in the vocals. Fans of the genre will exactly get what they love with ‘Until We Are Outnumbered’: an overwhelming feast of speedy, booming riffs, pulverising drums and scream-like vocals in a top notch production, since they know what they’re talking about in that Smart ‘n Hard Studio.

Nederlands:

English:

Late November 2009 the debut album ‘The Wrath Of The Lambs’ was re-released by Casket Music (distributed by Bertus in Benelux), but there is also an EP with four new songs, called ‘The Rising Tide’. In 2004 I was truly charmed by their EP ‘Aborted Revolutions’. At that time Illuminatus manifested themselves as an international four-piece, based in the U.K.; combining an Anathema-like melancholy with great, impressive postrock outbursts with an alternative edge. In the meantime, the band under guidance of Julio Taylor achieved a lot of stage experiences: we notice tours and gigs with Ministry, Susperia and My Ruin.

The sound of Illuminatus remains very recognizable, also in these new songs. Guitarist Julio Taylor sometimes sings as sensitive as possible, in the vein of Vinny Cavanagh of Anathema, a bit later we are in the midst of a grandiose eruption with echoing, dynamic riffs, creating a proper postrock universe. This music has grand momentum, just listen to the centrepiece of ‘Red’. These tracks were recorded at the Blast Studios in Newcastle with producer Adam Sinclair (Therapy?). As bonus track one can find an acoustic version of the older song ‘Wargasm’. Again it reminds me of the atmosphere during an acoustic gig of Leafblade or Antimatter. Indeed: again that Anathema reminiscence. It is beautiful music that flirts with the power of contrasts: fragile for a moment with emotive voice, then raucous as a tempestuous cataract while screaming, all this relished with melodic guitar leads. Mark the beautiful cover. The keyboardist does not belong to the permanent line-up anymore.

Nederlands:

English:

With much bravado they announce this as US power metal – and strictly speaking that’s where it comes down on – but do not be misled by the Americanized names of the musicians, since these are genuine Italians hailing from the Treviso region, even though they sound a lot like Cinderella and AC/DC. At least that’s my general impression. Burning Black does not have the pretension to reinvent the wheel, but they give the listener a fine time with tight straight forward traditional power metal. In this genre it comes down on writing fetching songs, and that’s alright with this in 2004 founded band.

Vocalist Dan Ainlay and guitarist John Morris took the initiative to form this band. After a few demos, their debut album ‘Prisoners Of Steel’ was received well in 2008. The album release was followed by touring and gigs with among others U.D.O., Primal Fear and Rage. Last year they supported Manticora and Circle II Circle. One can see the music on ‘MechanicHell’ as an hybridization of Judas Priest, Malice, Brainstorm and HammerFall. Dan Ainlay has a hoarse, yet high-pitched voice. Riffing is infectious and you can hear loads of excellent guitar solos in the eleven tight songs. Maximum velocity stunners as the title track and ‘Messengers Of Hell’ (featuring some high shrieks and guitar skills like fury) are intermittent with mid-paced songs with momentum. ‘Dust And Rain’ which is very evocative of Cinderella, is my favourite track. These guys make the eighties come alive again and it is fun to hear them do that!

Nederlands:
