TRIPTYKON ‘EPARISTERA DAIMONES’ ALBUM ARTWORK ANNOUNCED

"Eparistera Daimones", the forthcoming debut album by Triptykon, the group founded by former Hellhammer/Celtic Frost singer and guitarist
Tom Gabriel Warrior, is not only musically a leviathan. Remarkably, the album will also feature the epic artwork by renowned Swiss
artist H.R. Giger and New York-based surrealist Vincent Castiglia.

In an exceptionally rare gesture, HR Giger has granted Triptykon the use of his dramatic painting "Vlad Tepes" (work no. 412, 200 x 140 cm, acrylic on paper on wood, 1978). It is the artist's first authorized appearance on an album
cover in 17 years, and the second time he collaborates with Warrior
(following Celtic Frost's "To Mega Therion" album in 1985).

Vincent Castiglia contributes "Triptykon", a specially created portrait of the members of the group, painted in the artist's own blood
(86 x 86 cm, blood/iron oxide on archival paper, 2009).
As Castiglia aptly put it, the amalgamation of works by HR Giger,
Vincent Castiglia, and Triptykon on "Eparistera Daimones" forms a creative triptych in itself.

HR Giger: I am very proud to work with Triptykon. My art hasn't appeared on an album cover for quite some time, and I feel honored to have been approached by Tom about such a collaboration for Triptykon's very first release.

Vincent Castiglia: It's been a tremendous honor to work with both Triptykon and HR Giger on the forthcoming release of, "Eparistera Daimones". It was a project of enormous depth for me, conceptually as well as visually.
I think the resonance between Triptykon's music, Giger's art, and my work is extremely powerful, and it coalesces in quite an amazing, and singular way.

Tom Gabriel Warrior: We feel deeply privileged to be able to adorn our very first album with the work of two artists we respect enormously. To us, their astonishing contributions convey significant symbolism both with respect to our personal frame of mind as well as for this particular album and its history.

It is an immense pleasure to be able to work with HR Giger again.
He was one of our most significant mentors during the days of
Hellhammer and early Celtic Frost, and he is an extraordinary
human being and an artist without equal.

Vincent Castiglia has become a close friend in recent years, and we both sensed that the time had come to create something truly unique
together. I am infinitely grateful that he has lent us his incredible talent, not least because I know he incorporates as much passion,
darkness, and pain into his work as I do, too.

Triptykon "Eparistera Daimones" Mediabook CD Cover

Triptykon "Eparistera Daimones" Double LP Cover

"Eparistera Daimones" will also feature detailed credits, full lyrics and extensive liner notes to all songs and will be released via Century Media Records under exclusive license from Prowling Death Records Ltd. on March 22nd, 2010.

Two songs from "Eparistera Daimones" can already be heard at the band's official MySpace profile: www.myspace.com/triptykonofficial

One moment you announce the birth of God Seed, a bit later it appears that Gaahl needs a break from the metal scene and eventually something completely different comes out of this. His buddy King Ov Hell decided not to rest on his laurels and record an album under his own moniker with musicians that need no introduction. Indeed, we find ourselves in the epicentre of the Norwegian black metal scene and Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir), drummer Frost (Satyricon, 1349 and many more) and Ice Dale (guitarist, producer, a key figure in the Norwegian scene known from Enslaved, I, Audrey Horne, Trinacria, Demonaz) soon joined the club to record this material on a debut album.

Bassist King had gleaned a couple of ideas for a next Gorgoroth album. Next was the process, won by Infestus. Gaahl and King announced to continue under the moniker God Seed. In July 2009 Gaahl told King that he said goodbye to the metal world. King stood alone with his song ideas. Fortunately Norway is a place where you never are pressed for skilled musicians. Yet it is a surprise that ‘the Underworld Regime’ turned into what it is, due to the help of Shagrath, because he is a busy man as front man of Dimmu Borgir.

‘The Underworld Regime’ serves you blasphemous fury, yet mostly in a slower pace than you would expect. ‘Devil’s Harlot’ takes us with fast martial rhythms and menacing spoken interlude. Grim industrial sounds with distant ritual chants in the back are the beginning of ‘Post Modern Sadist’, but when the images of a hideous movie fade, they maintain a proper mid-paced riffing with captivating vocals and once again a spoken part. Of course there are songs in which raucous, fast black metal prevails. ‘Invoker’ (with fine leads), ‘Acts Of Sin’ and ‘Krigsatte Faner’ will surely appeal to old school blackies. I do prefer the epic tinged ‘Perpetual Night’ and mark the compelling ‘Ghosting’ as personal favourite. The guitar sound in that song even reminds me of the intro of ‘Seasons In The Abyss’ of Slayer. These heavy riffs with nice leads all over are great! Naturally this album has some Gorgoroth influences as well, yet it is quite surprising. In addition we hear Shagrath’s masterly voice in a less bombastic and crammed approach for a change. As you see, adventurous minds always overcome problems in life…

Nederlands:

Gelukkig zit men in Noorwegen nooit verlegen om goede muzikanten.

English:

“Dommin is the soundtrack for broken hearted teenagers”, explains front man and vocalist Kristofer Dommin. It’s not easy to describe what the band exactly sounds like. There is some Type O Negative ‘light’, some Tokio Hotel ‘heavy’ or Lacuna Coil ‘but with male vocals’. Dommin surely sounds very eighties and the industrial sound of Sisters Of Mercy is one of the main influences of this American gothic ‘metal’ band.

When I first listened to this album I couldn’t understand what the fuss was all about. This sounds like music for fourteen year old girls shouting and screaming for bands like Tokio Hotel and looking for new idols singing about feelings of being misunderstood. Most of the songs are about broken hearted outsiders fighting against the rest of the world. So, who cares? Why bother? But still, after some extra spins in my CD player, I have to admit that I quite started to like this band and that the songs started to grow on me. Catchy melodies, well sung and swimming in a crystal clear and warm production. Very strange because all heavy elements are well hidden in the mix, the voice of Kristofer Dommin is ok but not breathtaking (although it has the same satin and crispy sound of Volbeat’s vocalist Michael Poulsen) and the sound is very eighties. So it must be the songs which often sound quite surprising and original. Dommin is mixing cabaret, psychobilly, rock, metal and gothic to come up with a ‘unique’ Dommin sound.

Yes the lyrics are over the top and the band doesn’t sound heavy at all, but still the album has its moments. Maybe you will hate this release, but still I think it would be a unfair to judge this album only by its cover, reviews based upon one liners or the lyrics, without actually having a close listen to the album yourself. With some extra publicity by Roadrunner I have a feeling that Dommin might just be the next big thing in the ‘gothic light’ genre. My seventeen year old daughter will most probably be listening now to this CD. And that’s fine with me. Dommin might just open the gates for some more heavy and intense metal music.

Nederlands:
