BENEDICTUM

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of BENEDICTUM anticipated third full length album entitled “Dominion” on February 18th in Europe and March 8th in North America.

Surging forward as they are driven by the powerful momentum of front woman Veronica Freeman - whose unique and powerful style has been called one of the truly most extraordinary voices in Metal - and the guitar pyrotechnics of writer and guitarist Pete Wells, the time has come for the world to be on notice. Benedictum is again upon us.

Formed in 2005 and quickly noticed by Dio guitarist Craig Goldy, the wheels were soon set in motion for their debut album “Uncreation”. The collaboration of producer Jeff Pilson (Dokken, Dio, Foreigner) and the musical works of vocalist Veronica Freeman and Pete Wells along with the talent of drummer Blackie Sanchez, bassist Jesse Wright and keyboardist Chris Morgan, “Uncreation” was released to great reviews. Benedictum was selected as one of the top bands to watch in 2006 by Classic Rock magazine and one of Rock Hard Germany’s top 50 albums for that year. Guest appearances included Jeff Pilson, Craig Goldy and Jimmy Bain.

The result of the second collaboration between Jeff Pilson and Benedictum was their 2008 release “Seasons of Tragedy” which evolved them into a Metal force which could not be denied. With Veronicas’ raw and powerful vocals, songs with memorable melodies and the magical talent of Pete Wells along with new drummer Paul Courtois and the guidance of Jeff Pilson, “Seasons of Tragedy” further solidified the fact that there was something quite special at work here. “Seasons of Tragedy” garnered more great reviews and were on many a list for top albums of 2008. Guest appearances again by Jeff Pilson, Craig Goldy and also George Lynch who added his special flare to the track Bare Bones and the cover of Accept’s “Balls to the Wall”.

Their driving music and energetic shows allowed Benedictum to grace the stage of many festivals including Wacken, Gods of Metal, HRH and a tour with DORO.

Now ready for yet another amazing chapter, Benedictum are off on a new and exciting musical episode as they have signed a contract with Frontiers Records. Building upon their great foundation Benedictum has recruited Grammy Award winning producer Ryan Greene (Megadeth, F5, MXPX, NOFX) and are firing on all cylinders. With members Chris Shrum now on bass, Mike Pannone on drums and Tony Diaz on keyboards the new music promises to continue to expand the horizon for Benedictum and is sure to please current fans as well. From the onslaught of the opening track Dominion to the epic Epsilon and the heartfelt acoustic track Sanctuary, this album has it all. Adding to the already explosive sound of Dominion are guest appearances by Jeff Pilson, Craig Goldy and none other than Rudy Sarzo on the fist pumping track Bang.

The album “Dominion” contains an absolute musical journey with powerful riffs, well thought out lyrics and truly amazing musicianship. Crank it up, give it a listen and you too will become a “Victim of Benedictum”!

“Dominion” tracklisting includes:
Dominion; At The Gates; Seer; Grind It; Prodigal Son; The Shadowlands; Beautiful Pain; Dark Heart; Bang; Loud Silence; Epsilon; Sanctuary (Bonus Track); Overture/The Temples of Syrinx (Bonus Track)

WATAIN

Shouting stars WATAIN just won the national Grammy Award in the Hard Rock category! The ceremony was held at the Royal Opera in Stockholm, Sweden, last Monday. Congratulations, guys!
Here is the full comment of frontman Erik Danielsson: "I always pictured the criteria for entering the Grammy awards to be those of mainstream music in general; conformity, insipidity and commercial potential. In other words, I was quite surprised when we even got nominated. But considering all the blood, sweat and tears we have put into this our life's mission during the past 13 years, it is by all means an award well deserved. And no matter what the parameters were by which the jury made their decision; the Devil won again!
"Even if this music genre will always be one with adversity and wildhearted insanity as its very roots, the artistic value must be acknowledged not only on an underground level but in any cultural circumstance, high or low. Acknowledged I say, not necessarily appreciated. And in a country like Sweden it is about fucking time, for here it has been neglected and stupefied by the mass media for years, while legends such as Dissection and Bathory have been writing and releasing some of the most monumental albums in music history. The Grammy that we have won with Watain is a step towards rectification in that matter, and a sign of that the artistry and infernal creativity that permeates Watain and this genre is being taken seriously. For that we are proud and delighted in accepting the award. As for its market value or importance in a "music industry context" we sincerely could not care less."
In their home country, WATAIN are also nominated for the P3 Gold Awards in the "Rock / Metal" category, and for the Manifest Awards in the "Rock" category, which ceremonies take place respectively on January 22nd and February 4th.

ARKAN

After 2008's highly innovative debut "Hilal", ARKAN will be back with their sophomore album on April 18th! Once again blending middle-eastern music with European death metal, the French / Algerian / Moroccan band named this new release "Salam", which means "peace".
The album was produced by Fredrik Nordström at Fredman Studio, who made the following comment: "With this album Arkan excel in their art of mixing metal and Arabic music. The result is close to a masterpiece and these guys are its amazing conductors."
"Arabic music brings endless inspiration and with Salam we are only beginning", the band adds.

ARCH ENEMY

Metal masters ARCH ENEMY are currently locked up in the Sweet Spot Studio facilities in the south of Sweden recording their newest studio album which is being engineered/mixed by Rickard Bengtsson (who already produced 2005's "Doomsday Machine"). After releasing the "Tyrants Of The Rising Sun - Live In Japan" Live DVD/CD (2008) and the re-recordings album "The Root Of All Evil" (2009), the new studio effort marks the long awaited successor of 2007's acclaimed "Rise Of The Tyrant" album.

Previous to the recording session, UK's Bonkers Entertainment caught up with ARCH ENEMY at their headline show at the HMV Forum in London UK on November 27th, 2010. This concert was the last stop on a three year long touring cycle for the "Rise Of The Tyrant" and "The Root Of All Evil" albums and in the interview the members of Arch Enemy discussed the upcoming recording of the new studio album, the song writing process and touring plans for 2011. During the conversation, the band also divulged the title of the new album to be "Khaos Legions".

And while the band is still busy completing the album for a May 2011 release via Century Media Records,

EDGE OF FOREVER

Edge Of Forever will come back in studio for the new album!
After the worldwide acclaimed "Another Paradise", awarded among the best album of 2010, Alessandro, Francesco, Walter e Nic, standard-bearer of Italian Melodic Hard Rock in the world, will start the sessions for their fifth release.
The guys have already written many ideas, and in their perfect style will shut themselves away in order to improvise and arrange everything.
Songwriting sessions will end within the next spring and will be followed by the drums recordings by Francesco Jovino, immediately before the release of the new album by U.D.O. "Rev-Raptor", scheduled for 20/05/2011 under AFM Records.
The fifth album of EOF will be out after December 2011 through a still-to-be-unveiled label, but the band ensures first-class songs, performances and production.
In the meantime Alessandro Del Vecchio had the honour and the pleasure to work with James LaBrie, singer of prog-masters Dream Theater, in the new Eden's Curse's album, entitled "Trinity", and next to be released (March 2011) under AFM Records. James LaBrie sung a duet with Micheal Eden, lead vocalist for EC, in a song written by Alessandro Del Vecchio. Moreover, James directed and sung all the choirs of the album with Alessandro. An excerpt of this song with James LaBire can be listened here: http://lnk.ms/HKMzB.
