British doom/stoner veterans CATHEDRAL, headed by former Napalm Death front man Lee Dorian, will appear at the Brutal Assault festival 2011. First off all, we have the pioneers of Swedish melodic metal - SOILWORK, who have already played Brutal Assault but their latest album "The Panic Broadcast" is the right reason to remind their energic show and find out why this album is probably the band's best one up to date. Lovers of pure black metal will be pleased by Norwegian true combo TSJUDER. The hardcore scene will be represented by young hope from England, YOUR DEMISE who already proved their potential on last year's Never Say Die Tour.

More info: www.brutalassault.cz GARY MOORE RIP
Another great guitar legend has left us. In the early morning of February the 6th Gary Moore was found dead in his bed in a hotel in Spain. It came as a surprise to everybody, since the musician had no health problems. According to several sources he should be another victim of alcohol abuse. Gary Moore was an amazing guitarist. He was born on the 4th of April 1952 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. At young age he left home to become a musician, leading him to Dublin and finally the UK. He was the pivotal man in Skid Row (not the US band with shouter Sebastian Bach of course ïŠ ) but joined Thin Lizzy several times, being friends with Phil Lynott and Brian Downey since his teens. Phil Lynott helped him a lot with his career. Moore shared the stage with B.B. King, Albert King, Colosseum II and Greg Lake. He caught my real attention in the eighties, as a solo artist making heavier records. ‘Corridors Of Power’ and ‘Victims Of The Future’ are all time classics, while ‘Run For Cover’, ‘Back On The Streets’, ‘Wild Frontier’ and ‘After The War’ are not to be under esteemed as well. From 2004 on it was followed by a career focused on the blues, with ‘Still Got The Blues’ (2004) as million selling record. It is a pity we have to say goodbye to another icon. Phil Lynott and he can play darts again in heaven. WOLVERINE Swedish progressive Rock band “Wolverine†is set to release a brand new studio album ’Communication Lost’ was recorded at various locations in Sweden between February and August 2010. It was mixed by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios (Denmark) in july/august 2010 and mastered by Eroc at Eroc's Mastering Ranch (Germany) in December 2010/January 2011. The album, which was produced by the band, features 11 tracks and runs approximately 70 minutes: Downfall Into the great nothing Poison ivy Your favourite war Embrace Pulse What remains In memory of me In the quiet of dawn Communication lost A beginning Lyrically the album deals with personal issues the band and the individual members experienced during the four years the band spent on composing the material. The result is a melodic and moody metal album which feels like a natural progression from Still which was released in 2006. “Communication Lost†will be released on May 23 in Europe via Candlelight records
GOTTHARD
After the tragic accident of their friend and singer Steve Lee, who died in the United States on 5th of October 2010, the musicians of the Swiss rock band Gotthard withdrew from the public towards the end of the year in order to take a break. Now they are back with plans for the future and to tackle a difficult task. Quote from Leo Leoni: „... after the very emotional days following Steve‘s death, it was important for all of us to come to terms with the pain, let the incident sink in and find ourselves again. So we got together at the beginning of the year and started considering the new situation ... it was clear to all of us quite quickly, that it has to go on - GOTTHARD is not a job - GOTTHARD IS OUR LIFE „! Quote from Hena Habegger: „... of course we can only continue if we are lucky enough to find the right man. For us, it is not just a voice that can bring our songs back to life... more precisely we are looking for a singer whose personality also matches ours - the Gotthard Family!
Like walking through wintery landscapes – Finnr's Cane sign with Prophecy Productions
With their atmospherically gripping debut album "Wanderlust," the Canadian band Finnr's Cane have recently fascinated and enthused lovers of wintery soundscapes somewhere between mighty offshoots of traditionally grim Black Metal and sublime Post Rock. This unusual trio which replaces the bass guitar with a cello is going to take its unconventional musical jaunts supported by Prophecy Productions in the future, as the musicians have signed a contract on five albums. In their intuitive, epic tracks, the musicians of Finnr's Cane intertwine bitter-cold riffs with gorgeous melodies, Black Metal frenzy with ambient-like atmospheric rock, only following their infallible instinct for exciting soundscapes far from well-worn paths. All these features will be apparent in April, when a new edition of the rarely available "Wanderlust" with enhanced artwork will be released. After that, the band is going to concentrate on recording their second album. May the wild songs of Finnr's Cane invite all those who are adventuresome on an ecstatic trip through scenarios of snow and ice that are as impressive as they are deadly, a trip that you won't be forgetting soon...!

Farsot: Recordings of "insects" finished
Farsot have finished recording their upcoming album "insects." The follow-up to "||||" was produced under the aegis of Markus Stock in Studio E / Mellrichstadt. "insects" is going to pick up where the band's previous releases left off: the listener is enticed to discover, to confront the disturbing dynamics, to feel the deep, earthy mystique. This time, you are going to be faced with a topical framework that is more real than you can ever wish for.
The track-list of "insects:" 1. like flakes of rust 2. empyrean 3. perdition 4. 7 5. adamantine chains 6. the vermilion trail 7. withdrawal 8. somnolent
At the moment the finishing touches are being put to the layout and the different formats, a task that will be completed in the coming weeks. Further information on the album will follow in the near future.
