Duncan Patterson
Re. Duncan Patterson's Alternative 4 to sign with Avantgarde Music
Duncan Patterson has been an integral part of the independent music scene since 1991, still today known and recognized as the original mastermind behind Anathema's early success and in particular as the driving composer behind the "Eternity" and "Alternative 4" albums. With his song writing he contributed in defining the doom metal sound first, and then piloted the band towards a deeper and rather advanced style which they followed and developed furtherly after Duncan's departure.
Unquiet and always daring to experiment, he then formed (and released four albums with) Antimatter together with Michael Moss, exploring several genres from deep electronica to folk acoustic, as recently documented by Antimatter's comprehensive compilation "Alternative matter".
But a creative spirit can't be kept in a cage.. thus Duncan abandoned again a project at its top peak and started another full time project called Ãon, putting aside for a while the electronic trips and embracing the purity of acoustic, traditional and indigenous music but still marked with his well defined songwriting style.
In between recording and touring his own projects, he has also enjoyed taking parts to projects that were less spoken about in the indie/metal scene, like Irish alternative rock band The Aftermath or having his own music featured as movies soundtracks (the award-winning film "The sons of Eilaboun" and "Just Another Day").
Now to the most interesing part of this announcement: with his current project 'Alternative 4' Duncan has created what we can describe as a 'cinematic rock' monument, titled "The Brink", which recalls echoes of his previous work merged with classic sounding instrumentation.
Unsettling yet beautiful, The Brink is already and completely written and actually being recorded in different locations in this world and outer worlds.... The album will feature orchestral and chorals recorded in Monterrey, Mexico, as a diamond on top of a more solid and dark-rock core structure recorded in Ireland with the help of a few long-time collaborators and respected friends, like Mark Kelson (The Eternal) who will play an integral role on this release
"The Brink" will be tentatively released in Summer 2011 and will be adorned with a beatiful packaging and visuals.
Avantgarde Music is honoured, to say the least, to have as main guest in their house an Artist who undirectly in his earlier days contributed in growing up the label's owners musical taste and vision.
As we don't think we're forever, we are pleased and blessed to have Duncan with us today.

MYSTIC PROPHECY – Massacre Records News
Greek /German heavy metallers MYSTIC PROPHECY (http://www.myspace.com/mysticprophecy) are entering the studio once more. For the coming months MYSTIC PROPHECY will be recording their 7th studio album entitled RavenLord. This is going to be their first release with their new drummer Claudio Sisto who joined MYSTIC PROPHECY in June 2010. Raven lord will be released on October 28th 2011 through Massacre records. During the same period the band is planning on touring and hitting most festival stages around Europe.
Recordings will take place in Prophecy Music Factory studios (http://www.myspace.com/musicfactory_prophecy) and production duties will be handled by R.D. Liapakis (MYSTIC PROPHECY,SUICIDAL ANGELS,VALLEYS EVE, INSIDEAD and more ) with the rest of the band. There will be 11 songs on the album. Artwork will be delivered by Jonas Kawalek who has worked again with the band in the past for their 5th album Satanic Curses.
Commenting on the creative process of the new album the band mainman R.D. Liapakis stated "Mystic Prophecy is now more than ever in a turning point in their history. Fireangel overcame our expectations and our fans have shown us their support in the best possible way. The tour we did with STRATOVARIOUS gave the band the chance to get a very good sense of unity and groove which is generated by every member contributing to whole which finally is presented to the fans. This is what will make a difference in our upcoming album. The feeling of unity, amongst us, enhances the effect we bring out. More power, more feeling, more combined ideas, more diversity, but all in the thread that goes through it all which is MYSTIC PROPHECY. Two minds work better than one, so imagine all five of us contributing equally to the final result. I am confident that we'll do our best to express what's in our souls and hope the fans like it. Up till now we seem to have a common ground so this album will only enforce this bond with our fans and help us create new ones."

SUPREME PAIN sign with Massacre Records
SUPREME PAIN, who feature members of Sinister, Infinited Hate and Fondlecorpse, have signed with Massacre Records!

The German Pagan/Black Metal band KROMLEK has just set the release date for their upcoming album "Finis Terræ" at April 8, 2011. The band will release their new album through SMP/TROLLZORN RECORDS.

Century Media Records proudly announce the worldwide signing of Israel-based old school death metal band
SONNE ADAM, who will unleash their stunning debut album "Transformation" on April 4, 2011 in Europe.

The history of SONNE ADAM (which roughly translates into "hate humanity" in Hebrew) dates back to 2007 when a young Israeli duo consisting of Davidov (all instruments) and Dahan (vocals) started a musical project to create "death metal in the vein of early PARADISE LOST but with a more shamelessly evil and blasphemous touch and some
MORBID ANGEL thrown in the mix". Plain and simple.
The band's first recording was an EP named "The Sun Is Dead" (which so far remains unreleased) followed by another EP named "Armed With Hammers" which caught the attention of underground label Imperium Productions from Germany who subsequently released it on 7" vinyl in 2010. The resulting underground buzz within the deepest depths of forums and fanzines mounted in the renowned German Rock Hard magazine even awarding
it the title "demo of the month" and predicting the band to become a hot topic among all death metal maniacs.
Seeing SONNE ADAM developing into an amazing, highly promising underground act, Century Media Records picked them up for the release of the band's debut album "Transformation" in cooperation with Imperium Productions who will handle the album's vinyl version. The band itself never thought about ending up on such a big label as Davidov states:
"We didn't imagine that we will receive so much attention when we wrote the album a year and a half ago,
when the "Armed With Hammers" EP wasn't even released yet. Hell, we didn't even know back than how strong the old school death metal scene will be again. We never were "label hunters" so it was a big surprise. Actually, being from Israel and signing to a big label is more crucial than you think as we are very isolated from our crowd. No matter what, our heart is in the underground. Always was and always will be! If someone thinks that we are
selling out he can go f**k himself. We are very pleased with signing with Century Media."
The cornerstones of SONNE ADAM's sound are heavy, downtuned, diverse and all-consuming lava-esque riffs, unholy, triumphant vocals, thundering drums and a song-writing filled to the brim with fascinating twist and turns. Combined with metaphorical, dark and blasphemous lyrics "Transformation" ultimately stands out from the mass as an authentic, occult and earnest metal opus that leaves nothing to desire and should find many new supporters
among extreme metalheads worldwide. It's an album that propagates originality implying respect for the original precursors and creative ingenuity in equal measure. It's damn great dark death metal, plain and simple.
