NERANATURE VIDEOCLIP

This Monday was the day of the official premiere of the debut solo album by Nera, Darzamat's singer, entitled "Foresting Wounds". The next song promoting this album is "Precious Now", for which a video has been shot. The video can be viewed on Metal Mind Productions’ official channel on YouTube.

Nera comments on the video: "Actually we chose the song 'Precious Now' months ago, since it's one of my favourite tracks on the album. The script was being shaped in my head week after week, though shooting the video took us only a couple of days. On the literal level, it's about running away from the city to slow down the pace, gather one's thoughts, to spend some time in solitude. The lyrics, in turn, are about enjoying the "here and now", leaving all troublesome memories behind, as also breaking free from the snares of one's plans for the future. All we have is this passing moment..."

The video was shot and edited by a young artist going by the pseudonym Stanley McNoly.

NeraNature was founded by Nera in 2009. The project appeared as a space where the air is filled with matters lingering in her head, a bit more intimate, private and sometimes bizarre and freakish. “I've been waiting for a long time for the right place and time to find an outlet for my personal thoughts and beliefs. This is the time and place” – explains Nera. The name of the band is a combination of two words: Nera, the nickname of the vocalist, and Nature, referring to a reflection on a deep connection with the environment. It can also be interpreted as the nature of Nera – a diversity of views reflected in the songs. The feminine character of lyrics imbued with the feminist outlook on life constitutes one of the most significant elements of the projects, touching upon such issues as man’s detachment from nature and running away from himself/herself.

"Foresting Wounds" contains 12 compositions including Garbage’s cover “The World Is Not Enough”. The album is out now in Europe. US’ release date has been set up for 12th July (via MVD).

LACUNA COIL READY FOR RECORDING NEXT ALBUM

Italian hard rock / metal band LACUNA COIL have started recording the follow up to their highly successful 2009 "Shallow Life" album which spawned the hit singles "Spellbound" and "I Won't Tell You". The band are once again working with producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Bullet For My Valentine), this time choosing to record in their native Italy to help focus on the more personal nature of the new material.

"This time around music has been our refuge from some of the darkest days of our life and that's why the new songs have such a variety of feelings... some stuff is pretty angry, probably the heaviest we've ever written, some other songs are intense, loaded with velvet dark emotions and there's even a little space for some light at the end of the tunnel", says Lacuna Coil co-vocalist Andrea Ferro. "People are askin' me if we're going back to our roots or if we're taking another step forward in a new direction... well to be honest I just feel that this is 100% a LACUNA COIL record and that is what really matters to me. I just love the songs and we felt a big wave of inspiration.
The energy with Don in the studio is sky-high and we're ready to kick some ass."

"Collectively, we did so much in between 'Shallow Life' and this one.
We have lots of different experiences between us," continues co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia. "We've been loved and hurt, we grew up, we shrunk inside a little keeping ourselves together and our roots watered and are alive. I still can't believe that the energy in between us is getting better and better,
but I guess that's what being a real family means."

The as-of-yet untitled album is roughly scheduled for a release in the fall of 2011 on Century Media Records.

Starting this week, the band will be answering weekly fan submitted questions about the new album at their official fan site: EmptySpiral. Once Lacuna Coil completes the sessions for the new album, they will spend the summer performing at a select handful of European summer festivals, including Greenfield, Graspop and Sonisphere Spain.

"Summer means amazing energy from a lot of sweaty kids in front of a stage headbanging and jumping with us!" says Cristina. "I CAN'T wait to be up there again with LACUNA COIL.
You better be there because we are ABSOLUTELY ready to rock you all!"

LEGION OF THE DAMNED COMPLETE AGAIN

"After guitarist Richard Ebisch quite the band around 3 weeks ago we have not been sitting still" says singer Maurice Swinkels, "The day after Richard's departure I already had in mind to call guitarist Twan van Geel, I've known him for more than 10 years already and I knew he would be the perfect replacement".

"I called Twan that evening to tell him the situation in Legion of the damned and asked him if he would be intrested in a meeting with Harold, Erik and me, it didn't really took long before he called me back and said he would be looking forward to it" explains Maurice

"It was really a surprise when Maurice called me" starts Twan to explain, "We have known eachother for some years but he has never called me on the phone before, so I knew that whatever he was about to tell me had a special meaning, I knew that he would not call me about the weather ofcourse"(laughs) "Asking me to be their new guitarplayer struck me as a bomb, Legion of the damned has become a band that no one can deny or go around it ofcourse" Twan continues. "Therefor it didn't really took me a long time before I decided to take the shot and meet the rest of the gang."

Maurice: "After we invited Twan and spoke to him about the in's and out's of Legion of the damned one week later we met up in our rehearsalroom playing Son of the jackal, Cult of the dead and Death's head march that he already prepared at home, it truely felt as if the band is complete again" Maurice continues "The next day Harold, Erik and me had another meeting with the 3 of us and decided to take Twan van Geel as permit guitarplayer". when Maurice called Twan the next morning to give him the good news, Twan states: "Hell yeah! be able to play in Legion of the damned is an offer I can't refuse, be able to finally play with the big toys so to speak! Richard has been part of Legion of the damned since the very beginning and together with Maurice, Harold and Erik, he made what Legion of the damned is today, replacing Richard won't be an easy task, thats for sure, but nevertheless and humble as well as honoured I am to replace his spot and complete the band again and ready to strike with full force"

with full of joy and happiness Maurice states: "Since the departure of Richard I had no intentions to cancel any of our shows therefor we welcome Twan van Geel and we are very happy with his arrival, although its sad Richard left the band we were not planning on finding a 2nd Richard, Twan is a different person with different opinions and other inspirations which I think will only turn out positive in the musical direction of Legion of the damned".

"We also want to thank every other person who emailed us for auditions or were able to help us out, we appreciate their input, thank you!"
