Moonsorrow enters the Century Media areas
Finnish crusaders of epic heathen metal, MOONSORROW, and Century Media Records are proud to announce a worldwide deal. The band comments: "MOONSORROW are thrilled to start working with Century Media, a label that is home to many fellow artists already! We never make our music half way or with compromises and we know our art is in good hands with people who have the same mentality in running a record label. Now, after a year since the release of our last album we are ready to begin creating something new. The new chapter in this epic journey of MOONSORROW!"
Jens Prueter, Head Of A&R at Century Media Europe: "I followed MOONSORROW since their early days and I'm very proud to welcome them now to Century Media Records. They'll be in good family along with their countrymen Finntroll, Turisas and Insomnium. Two of the band members already have some history with us: Henri Sorvali is also part of Finntroll (even if he rarely plays live with any band) and Marko Tarvonen once moved from drums to guitar in the overlooked Death Metal allstar band Chaosbreed, who released an album that is as 'brutal' as its title.
Much has been said about the dark soul of Finnish Metal. A sound that is hard to copy for any non-domestic band. A sound out of endless woods, deepest sorrow and epic majesty. MOONSORROW are probably the most epic of all Finnish bands, not only because most of their songs are over 10 minutes long (sometimes even over 30 minutes), but mainly because they are able to tell stories that are older than written culture. You can follow them even if you don't understand a single Finnish word. MOONSORROW are able to take you on journey through heathen times. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who can't wait for the next chapter."
MOONSORROW was founded in 1995 by the cousins Henri and Ville Sorvali with the goal of creating metal art with a good touch of national romanticism and a distinctively pagan approach. Between 1996 and 2001 MOONSORROW released 4 demos and an album before signing with Spinefarm Records. During this time the line-up was completed with Marko 'Baron' Tarvonen, Mitja Harvilathi and Markus Eurèn - a winning team that hasn't changed since then. The 2nd album, "Voimasta Ja Kunniasta" was released in 2001 and its follow-up "Kivenkantaja" (2003) already hit the Finnish album charts at #16. It also took the band to their first shows abroad in 2004. "Verisäkeet" (2005) reached the charts as well, and saw MOONSORROW play their 1st show on the other side of the Atlantic and join Primordial for the band's 1st full European tour, both in 2006. During the year Janne Perttilä (also in Barren Earth) joined as live guitarist for the continuing extensive touring.
Their 5th album, "Viides Luku - Hävitetty" (2007) included just two songs, both of them checking in at around the 30 minute mark, paving way to new heights of epic pagan art, continued on the 68-minute long "Tulimyrsky" EP with another 30-minute song. 2011 saw the release of the most majestic album of the year, "Varjoina Kuljemme Kuolleiden Maassa" - a full-fledged concept album about a world after annihilation.
MOONSORROW 2012 still is: Ville Sorvali - Bass & lead vocals Henri Sorvali - Guitars, keyboards & vocals Mitja Harvilahti - Guitars & vocals Markus Eurén - Keyboards Janne Perttilä - Guitars & vocals Marko Tarvonen - Drums & vocals

RUSH RETURNS WITH “CLOCKWORK ANGELSâ€
CELEBRATED ROCK TRIO’S FIRST STUDIO ALBUM IN FIVE YEARS SET TO ARRIVE ON JUNE 12TH
NEW SINGLE “HEADLONG FLIGHT†LANDS AT ROCK RADIO ON APRIL 19TH
NEW YORK, NY (APRIL 11, 2012) – Legendary rock band Rush have unveiled details of its highly anticipated, new album, “CLOCKWORK ANGELS.†This is the renowned trio’s first new collection of original material in over five years and their first studio release via Anthem/Roadrunner records. “CLOCKWORK ANGELS,†the band’s 20th studio album, will be released on June 12th (see attached track listing).
The recording of “CLOCKWORK ANGELS†began in April 2010 with Grammy Award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones) – who also collaborated with the band on their last studio album, 2007’s “SNAKES & ARROWS.†Rush co-produced both records. The first two songs, “Caravan†and “BU2B,†were completed during that first session at Nashville’s Blackbird studios and performed nightly during the wildly successful Time Machine Tour, which ran from June 2010 to June 2011. Work on “CLOCKWORK ANGELS†resumed in the fall of 2011 at Revolution Recording in Toronto after the tour’s finale, with additional strings (arranged by David Campbell) recorded at Hollywood’s Ocean Way Studios earlier this year. Lyrically, “CLOCKWORK ANGELS†chronicles a young man’s quest across a lavish and colorful world of steampunk and alchemy as he attempts to follow his dreams. The story features lost cities, pirates, anarchists, an exotic carnival, and a rigid Watchmaker who imposes precision on every aspect of daily life. The novelization of “CLOCKWORK ANGELS†is being written by science fiction writer Kevin J. Anderson in collaboration with Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.
Rush will herald the release of “CLOCKWORK ANGELS†with a new single “Headlong Flight†landing at rock radio on April 19th. Details of a full-scale North American tour to support the new album will be announced shortly.

With more than 40 million records sold worldwide and countless sold-out tours, Rush – Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart – is not only one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history, but remains one of the most popular. The RIAA has certified Rush for the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band, topped only by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Rush’s vast catalog includes such classics as 1974’s self-titled debut, 1976’s “2112,†1981’s “MOVING PICTURES,†1996’s “TEST FOR ECHO,†and 2002’s “VAPOR TRAILS.†Rush’s most recent studio album, 2007’s “SNAKES & ARROWS,†debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200, marking the band’s highest chart debut since 1993, as well as their eleventh top 10 album in the U.S. The album’s first single, “Far Cry,†hit the top 5 at mainstream rock radio, with airplay on over 100 radio stations in the US. Additionally, the “SNAKES AND ARROWS†track “Malignant Narcissism†was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Rock Instrumental Performance category. In addition to their commercial success, Rush has also been recognized with a number of Juno Awards and multiple Grammy nominations, including one for the acclaimed documentary “Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage†at this year’s gala event. Enjoying a recent pop culture renaissance, Rush made a rare television appearance - their first in over 30 years - on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report†and a memorable cameo in the film “I Love You, Man.†A career-chronicling Rolling Stone feature summed up the renowned rock trio’s continuing artistic vitality by observing, “It’s true that Rush doesn’t mean today what it did in ’76 or even ’96. It may mean more.â€

News from Mirrormaze new album with Ray Alder
Progressive metallers Mirrormaze have signed a deal with Bakerteam Records for the release of their debut album 'Walkabout'. Influenced by Classic acts such as Rush and Progressive Metal giants such as Dream Theater and Fates Warning, Mirrormaze deliver an highly emotional album, soaked with melancholy and nostalgia, violence and horror, real and supernatural dimensions. Like the legendary aboriginal spiritual trip which gives it its name, 'Walkabout' takes the listener on an intimate journey through the unknown, detaching his mind from reality and finally allowing him to take a closer look at its own dreams. To add an extra value to their already astonishing debut, Mirrormaze have tapped Fates Warning's own legendary frontman Ray Alder for a truly impressive guest appearance on the song 'Deeper Signs'. Mixing and mastering duties have been handled by Staffan Karlsson (Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Roxette, Firewind) at Landgren Studios 5.1, Sweden, whilst the complete artwork was taken care by Gustavo Sazes (Manowar, Angra, Kamelot, Arch Enemy).. The release date is expected for 28th May 2012. Follow www.bakerteamrecords.com and www.mirrormaze.eu for more exciting news.
