For a good price SPV releases a double album, presenting the greatest metal acts of that label. It is truly impressive how many renowned bands inked a deal with SPV. The way of presentation is entertaining. Every time we have five songs in the following subgenres of metal: hard rock, heavy metal, power metal, thrash metal, hardcore and alternative. In a sagacious view one may call this a chronological order as well. These subgenres are – in accordance with the teaching nun on the cover – presented as lessons. Lessons in metalogy indeed. Those who come from another planet and need a fast curse would end up with some proper knowledge at least.
Of course everyone will have their own favourite subgenre(s), but the quality of the bands has such a high level that you will enjoy every style, at least that’s what happened to me. A DVD with more or less the same artists hit the stores simultaneously. You can read more about that in our DVD department.

Voor een zacht prijsje brengt SPV een dubbelalbum op de markt waar ze uitpakken met de grootste metal artiesten van dit label. Het is bepaald indrukwekkend welke bands onderdak vonden bij SPV. De presentatie is ludiek. We krijgen telkens vijf nummers in de volgende subgenres van metal: hard rock, heavy metal, power metal, thrash metal, hardcore en alternatief. Met een wakkere blik kunnen we dit ook een beetje chronologische volgorde noemen. Deze subgenres worden – in overeenstemming met de onderwijzende non op de cover – voorgesteld als lessen. Lessen in de metalogie dus. Wie van een andere planeet komt en een stoomcursus nodig heeft, raakt hier al een eind mee weg.
Natuurlijk zal iedereen zijn favoriete subgenre(s) hebben, maar de kwaliteit van de bands is van dien aard dat je van elk genre kunt genieten, althans dat was bij mij toch het geval. Van ongeveer dezelfde artiesten komt tegelijkertijd ook een dvd uit, maar daar leest u meer over in onze dvd afdeling.
