Maeder brothers Nic and Sebastian have yet again joined forces to create a promising Australian-made rock n' roll band that has been the missing link from the Australian music scene for years. Being raised in Melbourne and Switzerland, the two brothers have tasted every facet in the glamorous rock world, experiencing everything from European hard rock to the grunge-era. The band seems to have a good portion of reputation in their homeland, Australia. Their debut EP "Business In Me" reached the Top 30 on the Australian national charts and number one on the independent charts. They scored the soundtrack to numerous television commercials and "Another Thing Comin" was taken as the theme song for the Australian football Grand Final. During their national tours, they performed live sets on several TV shows. Since then, Nic and Sebastian have been writing new songs to complete the existing material and started a European join venture with former Krokus drummer/producer Patrick Aeby and agent Francisco Maganto of Go On Agency. The new album coproduced by Maeder, Steve James and Pat Aeby has been recorded between Sydney, Melbourne and Switzerland. After mind-numbing auditions they added bassist Kit Riley, and recently new drummer Travis Dragani to their demented rock family, it felt like the four had been playing together forever. Yep, It’s Rock ’n’ Roll, but expect a kind of Rock ’n’ Roll to be somehow more raw and in-your-face. The guitar duo likes old fashioned hard rock, so the tempos, chords and solos may remind you enough of AC/DC, Aerosmith and Kiss and some similarities of Gotthard, Deep Purple or post-80s Def Leppard. Still, listening to the production of this album the band has spent lots of spiritual work to ’rearrange’ this ’old’ Rock ’n’ Roll close enough to the alternative rock style. While "Another Thing Comin’" is nice and "It’s All Good" can be considered the best tune off the whole album. A well-worked CD.

De gebroeders Maeder hebben hun krachten nog een keer gebundeld om een Australisch gerichte rock n’ roll band bij elkaar te krijgen , ookal mist deze toch ietwat de typische Australische sound. Opgegroeid in Melbourne en Zwitserland hebben de gebroeders Nic & Sebastian veel opgestoken van elk facet van de glam rock, experimenterend met elementen van Europese hard rock tot de grunge periode. De groep blijkt alvast een goede reputatie te hebben in thuisland Australië. Hun debuut EP "Business In Me" bereikte de Top 30 in de Australische charts. Ze scoorden ook met meerdere TV commercials en "Another Thing Comin" werd verkozen tot thema song voor het Australische voetbal finale. Gedurende hun nationale tournees waren ze ook maarmals in meerdere TV show op te merken. Sindsdien hebben Nic en Sebastian een stel nieuwe nummers bij elkaar geschreven om het bestaande materiaal aan te vullen en gingen ze een Europese samenwerking aan met voormalig Krokus drummer/producer Patrick Aeby & agent Francisco Maganto van Go On Agency. Het nieuwe album is een coproductie met Maeder, Steve James en Pat Aeby en is opgenomen in Sydney, Melbourne en Zwitserland. Na vele audities mochten bassist Kit Riley en recentelijk nog drummer Travis Dragani de groep vervoegen, en het voelt hen allen aan alsof ze reeds jaren samen spelen. Yep, dit is rock ‘n’ roll, maar van die soort dat ze iets rauws heeft dat je neervelt. Het gitaarduo houdt van de oude hardrock, waardoor de tempo’s akkoorden en solo’s je wat doen denken aan AC/DC, Aerosmith en Kiss met enige knipoog naar Gotthard, Deep Purple of het na de 80 er jaren Def Leppard. Wanneer je naar de productie van dit album luistert merk je op dat er toch tijd gestoken is om het oude rock ‘n’ roll geluid dichter naar de alternatieve rock stijl te brengen. "Another Thing Comin’" is best een aardige song en "It’s All Good" zou ik wel als beste nummer kunnen aanschouwen. Een CD die wel werkt!
