Shortly after the release ‘Whitesnake Made In Japan’, we get another slice of live recordings by Whitesnake. They were selected from the many recordings that were made during the successful 2011 world tour which was planned on the back of the then new studio album ‘Forevermore’. The British leg of the tour was completely sold out and that’s a good reason to dedicate the whole of CD 1 to the British concerts. CD 2 is the companion called ‘The World Record’ and celebrates the rest of the world tour minus Japan. Of course a lot of songs on this release were also featured on ‘Made In Japan’ except for ‘Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City’, ‘Bad Boys’, ‘Slide It In’, ‘Pistols At Dawn’, ‘Snake Dance’, ‘Can You Hear The Wind Blow’, ‘The Badger’, ‘Deeper The Love’, ‘Soldier Of Fortune’ and ‘Burn/Stormbringer’. So there’s still a lot you didn’t hear on ‘Made In Japan’ and each live performance has its own vibe. So there is always something to enjoy for the real fan! The performances are flawless and full of excitement. This is Whitesnake at their best!

Dit is de tweede live uitgave van Whitesnake op korte tijd. Tijdens hun wereldtournee in 2011 werden massaal veel opnames gemaakt en daar werd zorgvuldig uit geselecteerd. Het eerste resultaat was ‘Made In Japan’ en nu is er ‘Made In Britiain/The World Record’. Cd 1 is volledig gewijd aan de succesvolle en uitverkochte Britse tour en cd 2 moet de rest van de wereld (minus Japan) tevreden stellen. Een ode aan de fans of een handige cash-in? De kwaliteit van wat hier geboden wordt doet ons resoluut kiezen voor de eerste visie. Dit is een schitterend live document dat bovendien een mooie aanvulling biedt op ‘Made In Japan’. Er zijn natuurlijk wel overlappingen, maar er zijn ook voldoende andere nummers om de aanschaf interessant te maken: ‘Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City’, ‘Bad Boys’, ‘Slide It In’, ‘Pistols At Dawn’, ‘Snake Dance’, ‘Can You Hear The Wind Blow’, ‘The Badger’, ‘Deeper The Love’, ‘Soldier Of Fortune’ and ‘Burn/Stormbringer’. Van de stemproblemen van David Coverdale is hier niets storends te merken en de band achter hem is zonder meer top. Dit is Whitesnake op hun best!
