Sin7Sins is not a ‘traditional’ female fronted band with gothic influences, but a full blooded metal band with heavy guitars and thundering drums. Still, they are also very melodic and vocal contrast is brought in by singer/guitarist Gen Morphine who counters the female voice with grunts and screams. This is done in a good balance towards the high voice of Lotus who gets all the space she needs in the vocal department. This band is not a bunch of beginners as this is their third album and the producer is the respected Swedish metal legend Dan Swanö. This is their most heavy album ever and the songs are well composed and the production work of Swanö takes care of the sound, which is top. Their sound is a well balanced mix of harsh metal, symphonic arrangements en melodic singing. That the band also has a sensitive side is beautifully shown on ‘Bittersweet Dreams’. This is a band to watch for!

Sin7Sins is geen traditionele ‘female fronted band’ met gotische invloeden, maar een volbloed heavy metal groep met zware gitaarriffs en beukende drums. Nochtans is de muziek zeer melodieus en voor de vocale contrasten wordt gezorgd door zanger/gitarist Gen Morphine die de hoge stem van Lotus regelmatig countert met zijn screams en grunts. Dit alles zit goed in balans en de hoofdrol is toch weggelegd voor Lotus. Deze Nederlanders zijn verre van beginners, dit is hun derde album en de productie was in handen van de Zweedse metal legende Dan Swanö. ‘Purgatory Princess’ is hun meest heavy album tot nu toe, de songs zitten goed in elkaar en de productie van Swanö is perfect. De sound van Sin7Sins is een goed uitgebalanceerde mix van bijtende metal, symfonische arrangementen en melodieuze zang. Dat ze ook gevoelig uit de hoek kunnen komen wordt aangetoond in ‘Bittersweet Dreams’. Hou dit bandje maar in de gaten!
