Ethernity may sound like a new name on the European metal scene, but their history goes back to 2000, when brothers Julien and Nicolas Spreutels formed the nucleus of the band. It took them four years to find singer Julie Colin and from that day on they could develop their music and their band to the full. They played some gigs and festivals like MFVF and PPM and keyboard player Julien also participated at the Episode project. It took them a couple of demo’s before they started to record their first proper full album in 2003. Two years later we can enjoy the result which is overwhelming. First of all this band sounds a 100% professional, which is emphasized by the participation of some bigger names on the metal scene: Tom E. Englund (Evergrey), Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Firewind, Outworld, …) and Mark Basile (DGM). Their songs may be trapped in a genre that has been explored to the full, but they are very enjoyable and the instrumental arrangements are top. Female singer Julie Colin fits the band like a glove and their metal approach is heavy and harsh, but also very musical, melodic and harmonic. This band should be on a label to give them proper worldwide promotion! Meanwhile they manage things themselves with the help of seasoned promotion office Hard Life Promotion. That should help them to take the next step!

Ethernity mag dan al overkomen als een nieuwe naam in het Europese metal landschap, maar hun geschiedenis begint al in het jaar 2000. Op dat moment slaan de gebroeders Julien en Nicolas Spreutels de handen in elkaar en vormen de kern van de groep. Na een zoektocht van vier jaar vinden ze zangeres Julie Colin en kunnen ze aan de slag om Ethernity tot volle wasdom te laten komen. Ze doen sporadische optredens en krijgen ook een plaats op festivals zoals MFVF en PPM. Keyboardspeler Julien participeert ook aan het Episode project. Na een aantal demo’s start de groep in 2003 aan de opnames van hun eerste full cd. Twee jaar later spint het resultaat in onze cd-speler en de plaat klinkt overweldigend. Deze band klinkt voor de volle 100% professioneel, wat nog eens in de verf wordt gezet door de aanwezigheid van gasten zoals Tom E. Englund (Evergrey), Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Firewind, Outworld, …) and Mark Basile (DGM). Hun genre mag dan al plat geëxploreerd zijn, wat Ethernity hier presenteert is een uitstekende genreplaat die staat als een huis. Hun songs zitten goed in elkaar en de instrumentale arrangementen zijn top. Julie Colin is perfect voor deze band en de metal benadering is heavy en bijtend, maar ook melodieus en harmonieus, kortom zeer muzikaal. Op dit moment pakken ze de zakelijke kant aan in eigen beheer met de hulp van het ervaren promo kantoor Hard Life Promotion, maar dit zou moeten leiden tot een deal met een label dat zich wereldwijd achter deze band kan scharen.
