English:

This happens to be the fourth full length studio album of the Belgian Limbourg based black metal formation Signs Of Darkness since their foundation in 1995. It is the successor of the EP ‘Apostate’ (2011) and ‘The Fall Of Amen’ (2008). Recorded at the Artsounds Studios in Helchteren, recordings and production were in the hands of the band itself under guidance of guitarist Peter Vaes. In between the acoustic epilogue ‘The Rise Of Serpents’ and the as well acoustic prologue ‘The Circle Of Serpents’ one can hear furious black metal in which the pace only slackens down for a moment during incidental intermezzos. ‘Clouds Over Your Masada’ and ‘Terra Nullius’ are perfect examples of that. Guitarists Peter and Jochen regale the songs with fervent yet quite epic leads, while singer Joris (also in Insanity Reigns Supreme as bassist now) now and then goes to high-pitched regions with Dani Filth alike shrieks. They better skip that. Furthermore it is a meritorious albums without remarkable highlights, yet coherent within the genre.

Nederlands:
