The fifth studio album by the Belgian soulmates of Ozric Tentacles brings new sounds and influences into the band. Eastern and African flavours as well as medieval melodies are part of the ingredients that bring colour and taste to their instrumental spacerock. This CD has been available for almost a year now, but it is simply too good to not give it a review, even after all this time. We are very glad that flute player Charles Sla is still playing with the band in the studio, because his sounds give the band that little extra. Unfortunately guitarist Dario Frodo has since left the band to concentrate more on Ostrogoth who reformed last year. The mastermind of the band is keyboard player Pete Mush and he always finds some new elements to take the music a little further. The addition of extra instruments and percussion make the arrangements rich and varied and as always his production is top. This is a beautiful piece of music that takes you on a trip for more than an hour. That’s a cheap ride considering the price of this CD! This is one of the best progressive Belgian bands ever, they deserve a better status than they have now! They should be given a stage at some bigger festivals!

Het vijfde studio album van het Belgische Quantum Fantay brengt ons weer enkele verrassingen. Oosterse, Afrikaanse en zelfs middeleeuwse invloeden klinken af en toe door in de muziek en dat zorgt voor extra kleur en smaak bij hun spacerock. Deze cd is al een jaar op de markt, maar hij is te goed om er geen aandacht aan te besteden op deze site. We zijn gelukkig dat fluitist Charles Sla nog van de partij is in de studio, want zijn fluitklanken vormen toch een essentieel onderdeel van de sound van de groep. Jammer genoeg heeft gitarist Dario Frodo ondertussen de band verlaten om zich te concentreren op Ostrogoth. De hoeksteen van de groep is keyboard speler Pete Mush die steeds weer nieuwe elementen vindt om de muziek te laten evolueren. Het gebruik van extra instrumenten en percussie maakt de arrangementen rijk en gevarieerd en zijn productie is zoals steeds top. Dit is een prachtig stuk muziek dat je meeneemt op een trip van ruim een uur. Als je het ons vraagt is de prijs van zo’n ceedeetje slechts een prikje voor een dergelijk lang avontuur. Dit is een van de beste Belgische progressieve groepen ooit en ze verdienen op de podia te staan van de grotere festivals. Het wordt tijd eens iemand dat ontdekt!
