It took British band Furyon five years to release a follow up to their excellent debut album ‘Gravitas’. It was worth the waiting! The band has the right ethic by working towards a collection of ten all good to very good songs. Besides that, the performance of the band is flawless. They are excellent players and they know how to write a perfect hardrock arrangement to their melodic but modern sounding songs. Singer Matt Mitchell has a fantastic rock voice and the dynamics of the recordings are great. This is true hard rock to enjoy every time, there may be no real ‘hit’ songs, but everything meets a high standard of songwriting. British bands can still rock!

Het duurde vijf jaar vooraleer we een opvolger kregen voor ‘Gravitas’, het prima debuut uit 2010 van de Britse melodieuze band Furyon. Het was het wachten waard! De groep heeft de kunst verstaan om een solide verzameling songs op te bouwen, zodat er op de plaat geen enkel zwak punt te bespeuren valt. Furyon beheerst het schrijven van pakkende hardrock arrangementen en zanger Matt Mitchell heeft een uitstekende rockstem. De muzikanten zijn eveneens uitstekend. De dynamiek van de opnames zit ook helemaal snor. Dit is authentieke hardrock die je elke keer weer aangenaam verrast. Er mogen dan misschien geen echte ‘hits’ op de plaat staan, maar de gemiddelde kwaliteit van de songs is hoog. De Britten kunnen nog rocken!
