English:

It’s not often that I get to review a band from Chile. Aisles is a band build around the Vergara brothers and ‘4:45 AM’ is their third album. It was released in Chile in 2013, but the band is still promoting the album which might trigger more international interest.

Their music is mostly inspired by bands like Saga and the ‘Big Generator’ era of Yes. On the other hand they show also the depth and feel that we find in recent Marillion records. Still, they have an own approach, which gives them an own identity. I have seen them labelled as a neo-prog band, but they also integrate elements of eighties and nineties pop and have a lightness which makes them very listenable. Their forte is the variation in the compositions, which makes it a real musical journey. Four of the pieces are great instrumentals on which the band shows its musicianship. So far, this album has been very well received by the international press and fans of the genre should give it a try.

Nederlands:
