END OF THE DREAM: All I Am

The Netherlands are one of the forerunners when it comes to female fronted bands. End Of The Dream is another one but could not find a label so far. This doesn’t mean that there’s no quality! From the first notes of ‘Follow The Angels’, the band takes us on a musical trip. Front woman Micky Huysmans leads a wonderful melodic symphonic metal band! The fact that Joost van den Broeck is in the producer seat is also an important factor in reaching a fully professional product. The compositions have a deep melancholic feel, without becoming a tearjerker. End Of The Dream proves to be a special band with strong instrumental skills. If they are able to bring this live with the same verve, then we will certainly hear more about them.

Nederland mag zich sinds decennia de koploper noemen van door vrouwen aangevoerde bands. Deze End Of The Dream is blijkbaar nog niet aan een officieel label toe, maar dat zegt absoluut niets over de kwaliteit! Vanaf de eerste tonen van ‘Follow The Angels’ worden we meegezogen in een magistrale sound van deze door zangeres Micky Huijsmans aangevoerde melodieuze symfonische metal band. Het feit dat ze konden rekenen op de talenten van Joost van den Broek als producer heeft ongetwijfeld bijgedragen tot het feit dat dit klinkt als een op en top professioneel product. De composities worden gedragen door een diepe, wat melancholische sfeer, zonder echter te verzanden in een tranendal. End Of The Dream openbaart zich in de studio als een bijzonder collectief met eveneens sterke instrumentale troeven. Als ze dit ook live waarmaken, gaan we hier nog meer over horen.
