Chilean born, out of a surreal mix of Italian, Swiss, German and English descent, Gisa Vatcky is a singer who has been working with an incredible number of amazing artists. The list would include from Andrea Bocelli to Enrique Iglesias, Placido Domingo, Melissa Etherige, Luis Miguel, Perry Farrell, Meat Loaf and more. Indigo Dying is Gisa’s debut as lead vocalist on an album and is a studio project put together specifically to develop her talents by Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino and LA-based producer Fabrizio Grossi (Glenn Hughes, Starbreaker). The goal was to find some suitable songs which could encompass a taste for more contemporary Hard Rock and Metal songs for a female singer as Gisa is. The songs have been picked especially to suit Vatcky’s voice and in the opening couple of tracks, “All I Never Wanted†and “Hear Me†they have really hit the nail squarely on the head. At times her voice reminds me of Amy Lee from Evanescence with echoes of Alanis Morrissette. One thing is for sure though, Vatcky has a superb, powerful yet melodic voice. In total there are 12 tracks and the quality is very much maintained all the way through. Former Helloween singer Michael Kiske appears singing a duet in the song "Breathe in Water", a track that builds from a slow start into a much more rocky affair, while former Malmsteen and Ring of Fire shouter Mark Boals guests on vocals on “Superman†and “Fair Enoughâ€. The resulting album is a fascinating and capturing experience in a musical world that has no boundaries from a modern, almost Gothic influence of “All In Never Wantedâ€, to the atmospheres of “Breathe In Waterâ€, to the more hard rocking approach of “Island†this is a strong album with plenty to offer. The songwriting is top notch, every song a melodic masterpiece, with thundering bass, pounding drums and blistering guitar. The songs are high quality and fit Vatcky to perfection.

De Chileense geboren, met een surrealistische mix van Italiaans, Zwitsers, Duits en Engelse degelijkheid, Gisa Vatcky is een zangeres die al eerder samenwerkte met een ongelooflijke lijst van grote artiesten waaronder Andrea Bocelli, Enrique Iglesias, Placido Domingo, Melissa Etherige, Luis Miguel, Perry Farrell, Meat Loaf en vele andere. Indigo Dying is Gisa’s debuut album als frontvrouw welk als studio project uitkomt en de talenten van deze zangeres tentoon spreid. Een samenwerking tussen Frontiers Records president Serafino Perugino en de LA producer Fabrizio Grossi (Glenn Hughes, Starbreaker). Doel van dit alles was om passende nummers te vinden die perfect aansluiten bij een Hard Rock & Metal geluid die Gisa Vatcky op het lij geschreven zijn. De openers “All I Never Wanted†en “Hear Me†slaan meteen ook de nagel op de kop. Haar stem doet me met tijden denken aan Amy Lee van Evanescence met een knipoog naar Alanis Morrissette. Eén ding is zeker, op deze schijf staan twaalf kwalitatieve afgewerkte nummers die Vatcky’s geweldige krachtige maar melodish stemgeluid naar voor brengt zoals het hoort. Ex Helloween zanger Michael Kiske verleend zijn medewerking in een duet "Breathe in Water", een nummer opgebouwd met een trage intro en evoluerend naar een rock knaller. Ex Malmsteen en Ring of Fire zanger Mark Boals krijgt dan weer een gastrol toebedeeld in “Superman†en “Fair Enoughâ€. Het resultaat van dit album is fascinerend en geeft een muzikaal geheel weer zonder grenzen van een moderne bijna Gothic invloed van “All In Never Wantedâ€, over het sfeervolle van “Breathe In Waterâ€, tot de rock aanpak van “Islandâ€. Dit sterke album heeft enorm veel te bieden, de composities zijn één voor één meesterstukken me een pompende baslijn, knallende drums en flitsende gitaarlijnen in een totaal geheel dat Vatcky perfect ligt.
