This is the fifth album by UK Midlands band Enemo J who returns with a changed line-up and new energy. The band sounds very tight and well produced on this album. Although their metal is leaning towards the extreme and the vocals sound brutal and aggressive, there’s enough variation to keep the listening session interesting. On some songs they even use some clean female vocals to polish the melodies. The strength of this album is the fact that it stays away from a monolithic approach which makes you think that you listen to the same song for a whole album … None of this for Enemo J! These guys know how to write a piece of music and to build an interesting sequence to an album. Even if you’re not into these harsh vocals, there’s enough to enjoy from the arrangements.

Dit is het vijfde album van het Britse Enemo J. Met een gewijzigde bezetting en nieuwe energie knallen ze vervaarlijk uit de spreakers. Hun metal leunt aan bij het extreme genre, maar door de uitstekende en transparante productie, gecombineerd met veel afwisseling in de composities, weten ze uw dienaar toch te bekoren. Op een aantal stukken gebruiken ze vrouwelijke zang om de melodieën een beetje aardig te doen klinken. De kracht van dit album zit hem in het feit dat de groep niet kiest voor een monolithische aanpak die je de indruk kan geven dat je een hele plaat lang naar hetzelfde nummer zit te luisteren, iets waar dit genre wel eens aan lijdt! Niets daarvan: deze cd bulkt van de afwisseling en Enemo J weet hoe ze een stuk moeten schrijven en arrangeren. Bovendien is de wijze waarop de nummers in sequens zijn gezet uitstekend. Zelfs als je geen liefhebber bent van brutale vocalen, valt er genoeg te genieten omwille van de knappe arrangementen.
