DELAIN: Lunar Prelude (MCD)

This ‘Prelude’ is a foretaste on Delain’s next album and combines old and new. As for the old, we get four songs taken from ‘The Human Contradiction’ performed live. While the studio versions are polished and the arrangements detailed, these ones sound more raw. Also from the same album, but featured as bonus track is ‘Don’t Let Go’ in a new version.
These are sandwiched between the new songs. The brilliant opening ‘Suckerpunch’s heavy orchestrated yet heavy with emotive undertow followed by the melancholic ‘Turn The Lights On’, while the symphonic part of ‘Suckerpunch’ is the other side of the sandwich.
The new material, totally compatible with previous album, promises the best for next album. Coming in 2016 as well!

Deze ‘Prelude’ is een voorproefje op Delain’s volgende album en combineert oud en nieuw. Wat oud betreft krijgen we vier nummers uit ‘The Human Contradiction’ in een live jasje. Zijn de studio versies gepolijst en arrangementen tot in de puntjes verzorgd, dan klinken deze hier rauwer. Daarnaast een nieuwe versie van ‘Don’t Let Go’ als bonus bij datzelfde album. Dit oudere materiaal zit geklemd tussen het nieuwe. De briljante opening ‘Suckerpunch’ zwaar georkestreerde doch heavy en met gevoelige ondertoon, gevolgd door het melancholische ‘Turn The Lights On’, terwijl het symfonische deel van ‘Suckerpunch’ de andere kant van de sandwich vormt.
Het nieuwe materiaal, volledig compatibel met vorig album, beloofd het beste voor volgend album. Ook voor dit jaar!
