Singer Darkyra Black stuck to her team for het second effort. A case of not changing a winning team. With producer George Boussounis she has a great partner to shape her songs into accessible symphonic rock. ‘Fool’ is a concept album about the fountain of wishes that originally was made for the happy few. Therefore the album has two parts: ‘Fools Of the Past’ and ‘Faces By The Fountain’. The songs are about the lives and wishes of the well wishers past and present. Just like the debut album the songs are varied and are recorded with a rock band expanded with extra classical instruments and voices. Darkyra has a very flexible and expressive voice that makes the album a joy to listen to. Supported by the rich arrangements of Boussounis, this second offering is another fine album that doesn’t follow the already well explored paths of so called ‘female fronted metal’.

Zangeres Darkyra Black bleef voor haar tweede album trouw aan het team waarmee ze haar gesmaakte debuut opnam. Met producer George Boussounis heeft ze een geschikte partner gevonden voor haar toegankelijke, maar vernuftige symfonische rock en metal. ‘Fool’ is een conceptplaat over de wensput die oorspronkelijk bestemd was voor de koningen en prinsen van deze wereld. De plaat bestaat uit twee delen: ‘Fools Of The Past’ en ‘Faces By The Fountain’. De nummers gaan over het leven en de wensen van alle gegadigden, zowel uit het verleden als vandaag. Net als op het debuut zijn de nummers gevarieerd en wordt de ondersteunende rockband aangevuld met extra klassieke instrumenten en stemmen. Darkyra heeft een flexibele en expressieve stem die van het geheel een bijzonder boeiende luisterervaring maakt. Ondersteund door de rijke arrangementen van Boussounis, is deze tweede plaat opnieuw een geslaagd werkstuk dat afwijkt van de platgetreden platen van de zogenaamde ‘female fronted metal’.
