If you like threatening screams and growls, if you like a band that sounds like a raging bull without losing the grooves, then this is one for you. After five albums and many tours, Raging Speedhorn disbanded in 2008, but like so many other bands, the eager to perform came back and materialised in 2014.
‘Lost Ritual’ is their first album since reforming. This controversial band has a sound like a bulldozer but still manages to put enough light and shade in their songs to make this an interesting listening experience. The pounding drums, the killer riffs, the wall of sound, the energy ... Although I’m not a fan of this kind of ‘singing’, these guys do impress me and that’s not just because of the fantastic artwork!

Als je van dreigend geschreeuw en gegrom houdt, als je van een groep houdt die klinkt als een ontketende stier zonder de trappers te verliezen, dan wordt dit je volgende aankoop! Na vijf albums en vele tournees heeft Raging Speedhorn zichzelf opgeheven in 2008. Maar het bloed kruipt waar het niet gaan kan en in 2014 werd de groep opnieuw actief.
‘Lost Ritual’ is hun eerste album sinds de reünie. Deze controversiële band klinkt als een stormram, maar weet toch voldoende met licht en schaduw te werken om het interessant te houden. De beukende drums, de dodelijke riffs, de geluidsmuur en de energie zijn allemaal elementen die van Raging Speedhorn iets bijzonders maken. Normaal gezien ben ik geen fan van dit soort ‘zang’, maar deze Britten komen er aardig mee weg en dat komt niet alleen door het prachtige artwork!
