Ex-members of Raintime, Slowmotion Apocalypse and Jar Of Bones have founded Fake Idols and now they are ready to launch the new album ‘Witness’, their debut on Scarlet Records. Coming from the melodic death metal scene, they are now transformed in a firm, quite heavy hardrock band with glam overtones. The guitar skills are sure-fire, but the compositions are mutually exchangeable.

The energetic rock goes one ear in and the other ear out. Guest appearances of Phil Campbell (Motörhead) in ‘Mad Fall’ and Damna (Elvenking) in ‘The City’s Burning’ cannot set this to rights. Only in the lengthy title track there is a glimpse of hope on the horizon. Those who only want uncomplicated rock in their collection, should check this out. It is not bad, but quite mediocre.
