Civilization One is an international band with musicians from Sri Lanka, Italy, France, and Brazil. "Revolution Rising" is their debut release features 10 songs, which the band produced themselves and recorded at studios in France, Italy, and Germany. The mixing and mastering was done by Markus Teske (Vanden Plas, Dominici, Symphony X) at Bazement Studios in Germany. Civilization One was started by vocalist Chitral "Chity" Somapala (Avalon, Firewind, Faro, Red Circuit) and guitarist Aldo Lanobile (Secret Sphere). They wanted to create a band that combined heavy, aggressive guitar riffs with the melodic sensibilities of classical music. The line up was completed with drummer Luca Cartasegna, who had recorded 3 albums with Aldo in Secret Sphere and bass player Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson, whom Chity was quite familiar with, as his former group Heavenly. The last piece of the musical puzzle was completed by keyboard player Jesper Stotz (who originally hails from Brazil). Chity had been in correspondence with Jesper over the years, and asked him to join the band as he knew that his virtuoso skills and compositional brilliance would enable them to explore all the different atmospheres that a band like Civilization One requires. This musical quintet set upon writing an album of timeless heavy metal with neoclassical, symphonic aggression. The band conducted extensive writing sessions in Germany and Italy, whereby Chity and Aldo created the main framework, and the rest of the band contributing their unique talents to the compositions. After they had finished writing the album, the band knew that they had surpassed all of their original aspirations which will be heard by all on "Revolution Rising." The bands played their first live show on March 30, 2007, headlining the ProgPower UK pre-party show, receiving excellent praise from bands, fans and press alike for their memorable songs and dynamic stage presence. This release became a very powerful album with lots of melodic keyboards and solo parts, featured memorable vocal lines and choruses, even deep runts in songs like “16†& “Welcome To Paradiseâ€. A real blast from beginning to till the end. An excellent album for the fans of Pretty Maids, Helloween, Masterplan etc…

Civilization One is een international gezelschap met muzikanten uit Sri Lanka, Italië, Frankrijk en Brazilië. “Revolution Rising†is hun tien nummers tellend debuut, wat de band zelf produceerde en opnam in studio’s in Frankrijk, Italië en Duitsland. Het gehele mixing proces was in de handen van Markus Teske (Vanden Plas, Dominici, Symphony X) en gebeurde in de Bazement Studios in Duitsland. Civilization One werd in de eerste plaats opgericht door zanger Chitral "Chity" Somapala (Avalon, Firewind, Faro, Red Circuit) en gitarist Aldo Lanobile (Secret Sphere). Het hoofddoel was een geluid te bekomen dat stevig agressief gitaarwerk zou combineren met de melodische gevoeligheid van klassieke muziek. De bezetting werd verder nog vervolledigd met drummer Luca Cartasegna, die voordien al drie platen opnam met Aldo in Secret Sphere & Bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson, welke Chity nog kende van een vorige groep Heavenly. Het laatste puzzelstukje werd gelegd met toetsenist Jesper Stotz (oorspronkelijk uit Brazilië). City correspondeerde al enige tijd met Jesper en vroeg hem dan ook om de groep te vervoegen omdat hij wist da zijn briljante & virtuoze capaciteiten het geheel een eigen atmosfeer zouden geven binnen Civilization One. Het muzikale kwintet begon gedreven met het bij elkaar schrijven van tijdloze heavy metal nummers met neo klassieke symfonische elementen gedurende componeersessies in Duitsland en Italië. Chity en Aldo schreven de basis bij elkaar, waarna de andere muzikanten hun eigen talenten toevoegden aan deze composities. Nadat alle materiaal bij elkaar geschreven was wist de groep dat ze een eigen origineel concept bij elkaar hadden en speelden vooreerst live op 30 maart 2007 op de ProgPower UK pre-party show, waar ze op lovende kritieken van andere bands, pers en fans konden rekenen. Dit vanwege hun memorabele songs en dynamische podium act. Dit debuut is dan ook een zeer krachtige schijf met vele melodische toetsen & solopartijen, aangevuld met pakkende vocalen en refreinen, alsook diepe grunts in nummers als “16†en “Welcome To Paradiseâ€. Een schijf die je wegblaast van begin tot einde en uiterst geschikt voor fans van Pretty Maids, Helloween, Masterplan etc…
