English:

After the big success of ‘Massive Addictive’(2014) the wait for this fourth album was long. Let’s see if ‘Maximalism’ is another bull’s eye for this Swedish band with their quite unique brand of electro, pop and metal.

‘Maximize’ is great with its compelling rhythm and the interactions between angelic female voice, clean, powerful male voice and screams, with a virtuoso solo on top. ‘Boomerang’ is rougher, not only more grunt but also musically, nevertheless, due to the pop influences, this is the most catchy song. ‘That Song’ is slower and has industrial influences, while ‘21’ goes full throttle pop/metal, as well as the stomping ‘On The Rocks’, again great, be it too short solo. Rough stuff mixed with melodic catchy elements, for which Elize is greatly responsible. After the ballad ‘Limitless’ comes ‘Fury’ with big industrial/electro influence and more screams. Then we get ‘Faster’, ‘Supersonic’ and ‘Fireball’ (great break where electro flows over into guitar solo ), all modern heavy, and coming close to ‘Boomerang’s degree of catchiness, while Jake’s voice shines – a bit like Kamelot’s Khan – in ‘Break Down’. The symphonic ballad ‘Endlessly’ closes beautifully.

Unique combination of genres in a collection of catchy songs!

Nederlands:
