Sideburn is a Swiss band with that typical ‘Swiss groove’: no-nonsense rock-‘n-roll with a steady beat and a leaning towards AC/DC. If you are into bands like Krokus, Airbourne and likewise rockers, you will also like Sideburn. This is their eighth album and the band has a professional routine by now, so everything sounds good and after so many albums the band still sounds eager and manages to come up with a set of enjoyable songs. Needless to say that the performance is flawless and twelve of the thirteen songs are originals. This album is dedicated to the memory of Lemmy Killmister, hence the presence of ‘No Class’, a Motörhead cover done with class. It will not change the course of rock, but this is a very enjoyable record!

Sideburn is een Zwitserse band met die typische ‘Swiss groove’: no-nonsense rock-‘n-roll, een steady beat en een zweem van AC/DC invloeden. Als je houdt van groepen zoals Krokus en Airbourne, dan zal dit ook je ding zijn. Dit is hun achtste plaat en het spreekt voor zich dat de groep ondertussen een professionele machine is geworden. De plaat klinkt goed en het strekt Sideburn tot eer dat ze nog steeds hongerig klinken met een stel genietbare songs. Onnodig te vermelden dat de uitvoeringen puik zijn en twaalf van de dertien songs zijn eigen composities. Deze plaat wordt opgedragen aan Lemmy Kilmister en dan kan een Motörhead cover natuurlijk niet ontbreken, vandaar de aanwezigheid van ‘No Class'. Een leuke ontspannende rockplaat!
