GOBLIN KING: Blood Drugs & Death 'n Roll (EP)

Can you imagine something with a title like ‘Blood, Drugs & Death n Roll’? Yes, that’s it! Brutal rock. Motörhead with a touch of death… There’s more than one Goblin King around, but this London quartet is going for the throne of the thunder god. Their entry in the scene with a fine five track EP makes clear that these guys are going for the void left by Motörhead and along the way, take it a little bit further. If they manage to come up with the goods as they do on this taster, we will certainly hear more about them in the future!

Kun je je iets voorstellen bij een titel zoals ‘Blood, Drugs & Death n Roll’? Juist, ja! Brutale rock. Motörhead met een toets van death metal. Er zijn veel koeien die Bles heten en dat geldt ook voor de naam Goblin King, maar dit Londens kwartet gaat duidelijk voor de troon van de dondergod. Hun entree in de scene met een ferme vijf nummers tellende EP, maakt duidelijk dat deze gasten in het gat willen springen dat werd achtergelaten door Motörhead, maar ze willen dit meteen ook nog wat aanscherpen. Als deze Goblin King erin slaagt om het elan van deze EP door te trekken in toekomstig werk, dan zullen we beslist nog van hen horen.
