MINDFLOW: Mind Over Body

These Brazilian Mindflow delivers an 80 minutes high class progressive album with their release of “Mind Over Bodyâ€. They warn you through the title of one of their songs “Follow Your Instinct†and that’s exactly what Mindflow does: powerful progressive rock with no boundaries and no rules, fuelled by the quality and energy of the band members. They take you through an amazing musical trip with different visions of music and compositions of most variable kind of sensations. The album is recorded and mixed by the talented Guilherme Canaes at the Mega studios, one of the best and well equipped studios in Latin America and mastered by the American living legend George Marino at Sterling Sound, New York. “Mind Over Body†is also a very modern visual album, and comes with a 24 pages booklet with eight artistic photos that captured the essence of each song and the special “Follow Your Instinct†comic book, drawned by Rick Troula, puts you right into the action, changing you from listener to a skeleton key to a psychological puzzle where the interactivity goes beyond; this all in a well designed digi pack package. This unique multiple project transcends the musical album concept, offering the listener a river of sensations caused by the songs and put together artistic photography, literature philosophy, comics and the art of investigation in a single work This is a high level production that brings the Brazilin rock scene to a whole other level – Maximum quality by extremely talented musicians. I’ve tried to describe each and every song in some words but the experience of this musical journey is so enormous and full of different approaches that I could wrote a magazine about it. Let’s say that bands (and also quality) like Pain Of Salvation comes close to it. This is a must have for the Pain Of Salvation fans; you won’t get disappointed by buying this album!!!

Het Braziliaanse Mindflow levert met dit 80 minuten durende “Mind over Body†album een progressieve schijf af van hoge klasse. De band waarschuwt je al door de titel van één van de nummers “Follow Your Instinct†en dat is ook wat Mindflow doet: krachtige progressieve rock afleveren zonder grenzen of regels, doorspekt met de kwaliteit en energie van elk groepslid op zich. Mindflow neemt je mee op een ongelooflijke muzikale reis met de meest uiteenlopende muzikale visies, een sensatie op zich. Het album is opgenomen en ingeblikt onder de leiding van Guilherme Canaes in de Mega Studio’s, één van de meest moderne en technische studio’s in Latijns Amerika en werd gemastered door de Amerikaanse legendarische George Marino in de Sterling Sound studio in New York. “Mind Over Body†is ook een modern visueel album dat komt met een 24 pagina’s tellend boekje waarin acht artistieke foto’s elk nummer nog eens extra kracht bijzet. Ook het speciale “Follow Your Instinct†stripboekje, getekend door Rick Troula, voert je mee midden in de actie en zorgt ervoor dat je als luisteraar interactief meegevoerd wordt in een psychologische puzzel; dit alles mooi verpakt in een verzorgd digipack uitvoering. Dit unieke Multi project transformeert het muzikale concept in een totaalwerk dat de luisteraar meevoert in een sensationele stroom van muziek, artistieke fotografie, literatuur, filosofie, strips en de kunst van het onderzoeken zelf. Dit top product brengt de Braziliaanse rock scene tot een geheel ander niveau met maximale kwaliteit gebracht door uitzonderlijk getalenteerde muzikanten. Ik heb doorheen de luistersessies getracht om elk nummer in woorden te vervatten maar deze muzikale reis is zo enorm en gevuld met ontelbare verschillende benaderingen dat ik er een gans magazine over zou kunnen schrijven. In het kort samengevat zou ik kunnen stellen dat Pain Of Salvation nog het dichtste bij komt. Deze schijf is dan ook een ‘moet in het CD rek staan’ schijf voor de Pain Of Salvation fan; deze zal zeker niet teleurgesteld zijn bij de aanschaf van dit plaatje.
